"Navigating the future: safety comes first!" has been selected for the International Maritime Organization's 2024 World Maritime Theme, culminating in the celebration of World Maritime Day on September 26, 2024.

This theme reflects IMO's efforts to improve maritime safety and security, along with protecting the marine environment, while ensuring its regulatory development process is safe in anticipation of the rapid pace of change and technological innovation.
